POTHYS SWARNA MAHAL WINNER OF NATIONAL JEWELLERY AWARD
BRIDAL GOLD JEWELLERY OF THE YEAR 2022

A sterling achievement for Tamil Nadu’s leading jewellery brand, Pothys Swarna Mahal has been declared winner of the “Bridal Gold Jewellery of the year”, an  National Award given by the Gem and Jewellery Council of India. This prestigious award is considered as “Oscars of Indian Jewellery Industry”.

Gem and jewellery council of India is a prestigious body constituted for promoting jewellery business in India where all leading jewellers are the members. Every year it gives awards for the best design developed by its members. Hundreds of jewellers participate presenting their new design vying for the award instituted by it. It also gives away award for the best jewellery promotional film of that year.

Pothys Swarna Mahal is the only jeweller in South India to win two consecutive awards in the event – the other award being for the best promotional campaign of the year, for the Ayiram Kangal advertisement.

“Roots of our ancestors originated from Srivilliputhur and we proudly wanted to showcase the culture and heritage of Tamil Nadu at a national level. The jewellery design portrays the life of Goddess Andal and is an ode to her life events as depicted in the temple architecture,” Mr. Pothys Ramesh said.

The design of the Srivilliputhur Andal Temple is a marvel in itself. Many parts in both the haram and odiyanam are movable. The entire gopuram rises up, to show Lord Vishnu resting within.

Since photography of the temple is strictly prohibited, a team of artisans from Pothys Swarna Mahal stayed within temple premises and made intricate detailed hand drawings of each sculpture within the temple to create this glorious masterpiece.

This captivating award winning piece of jewellery weighs over 3kg and it took 365 days and 3285 hours of skilled labour to complete.

“With divine blessings of Goddess Andal and Lord Vishnu, we would like to thank each and every one of our customers for inspiring us and our success stories”, Mr. Pothys Ramesh concluded.
